Platige Image has realized visual effects for the newest commercial of Acko – an innovative Indian insurance brand.
The goal of the campaign was to take an unprecedented approach to the subject of insurance, which in India is usually handled without mentioning the value the customers get for their money. The ad, created by the BBH Mumbai agency, is grounded in the philosophy of ‘Paisa Vasool’ – ‘being worthy of its price’. At the same time, it avoids the standard melodramatic tone and takes a comedic approach. The key element of the video is a digital octopus, designed and realized by our team.
The challenge was to integrate the octopus with the masseurs’ hands – in reality the actors on the set were holding pillows. The look of the animal has changed between versions. We’ve started with a more realistic model, which actually proved too realistic, so we had to reduce the number of wrinkles, add a friendly smile etc. It took us a while to polish the octopus’s animation, reactions, facial expressions and get right its jelly-like quality says Marcin Wasko, CG supervisor.
We’d like to thank BBH Mumbai for inviting us to collaborate on the project.
