13th April 2010 is the 70th anniversary of the Katyn crime. Platige Image is currently working on visualizations for the commemorative event I Remember. Katyn 1940 (Pamiętam. Katyń 1940) by Łukasz L.U.C. Rostowski, Konrad Smuga and Marcin Kobylecki.
The task faced by the creators of I Remember. Katyn 1940 is communicating certain universal values important to all Polish people, as only memory and freedom of the successive generations gives meaning to the martyrdom of the murdered intelligentsia.
The show will bring together modern tunes and rhythms and authentic archival recordings from those days. Similarly to the famous last year’s project  39/89. Understanding Poland (39/89 - Zrozumieć Polskę), L.U.C. lets the historical characters speak and the music builds a unique mood that strengthens the message. The currently prepared animation refers to the historical archives as well using the photographs of the murdered and fragments of the letters written in war camps among others.
The performance’s premiere will take place in Teatr Wielki in Warsaw and among the invited guests there are the President of the Republic of Poland, Lech Kaczynski, the Prime Minister Donald Tusk and other dignitaries participating in the official anniversary celebrations. Polish National Television will broadcast I remember. Katyn 1940.
