The short fully established the artist’s style, which combines a painterly sensitivity, epic scale, and strong ties to literature. “The Cathedral” is the result of the collaboration between Bagiński and writer Jacek Dukaj, who authored the eponymous short story. The movie was nominated for an Academy Award in 2003 and inspired a score of young CG artists to seek employment in the creative industries.
